Local HVAC Equipment Shipping Information

Service Area

Local HVAC Equipment currently ships to 3 states only, as we are in the process of expanding our shipping department to serve more areas. We only ship items to Maryland (MD), Virginia (VA), and Washington, D.C. (DC).

Order Processing & Delivery Times

Once we receive your order, it will be carefully prepared for shipping via a common carrier.

  • Standard Delivery: Delivery times are currently running 3-10 business days, not including holidays or weekends.
  • Special Orders: Items not in stock or requiring a special order will take a little longer.

Freight Delivery Process

A common freight carrier will deliver your order to your home or office. These trucks are large and heavy and cannot be driven on residential driveways.

  • Tailgate Delivery: The driver is responsible for delivering the freight to the tailgate of the freight truck.
  • Lift Gate Service: If you cannot or do not have anyone to assist with unloading, a lift gate truck can be requested for an additional charge to place the freight on the ground behind the truck.
  • Final Placement: Once the freight is offloaded from the truck, you are responsible for moving it to its final location.

Inspection & Damage Policy

All orders are shipped fully insured as occasional damage can occur, although this is rare. Equipment orders shipped by a common carrier are F.O.B., from the originating shipping point as determined by Local HVAC Equipment.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT sign for a delivery that has not been inspected.

You must carefully inspect your equipment at the time of delivery with the driver present. Carriers will not accept damage or shortage claims without a notation on the delivery receipt that damage or a shortage exists.

Liability & Claims

Once an order leaves our shipping dock, it officially becomes the property of the consignee with all obligations attached. In no event shall Local HVAC Equipment be responsible for damage incurred once the order leaves the facility.

We will assist in the claims process for damage noted at the time of delivery, provided the customer submits a copy of the noted freight bill with the delivering driver's signature to Local HVAC Equipment.

  • Severe Damage: In the case of severe damage noted at delivery, Local HVAC Equipment will, at its sole discretion, file a claim with the carrier for the value of the damage or replace the damaged item. All determinations of repair value shall be final unless additional information is supplied.
  • Unnoted Damage: Damage not noted by the consignee at the time of delivery will in no way alter any previous agreements between the customer and Local HVAC Equipment. For concealed damage, our sole liability shall be to assist the customer in obtaining a claim form to be filed with the carrier.

What to do if you find damage

If you receive your order with evident damage, immediately inspect it to determine if it is cosmetic or severe enough to affect system performance.

  • Cosmetic Damage: You may accept the delivery, but note it on the shipping document. Pictures are required for us to help provide you with an estimate to repair the damage along with a carrier claim form for reimbursement.
  • Severe Damage: Simply refuse the damaged portion, and we will immediately ship a replacement at no charge to you.

Claims for damage must be submitted in writing to both Local HVAC Equipment and the delivering carrier within 24 hours of delivery to be considered for reimbursement.

Orders that are returned or refused for reasons other than shipping damage are subject to our return policies. View our return policies here.

In the event the Purchaser retains an attorney, Purchaser shall pay all reasonable attorney's fees and costs incurred by Local HVAC Equipment. The point of venue for litigation purposes shall be Prince George County, MD.
